They are member of the Major League Baseball’s American League. They played in Kauffman Stadium from the season of 1973 up to the present. Their name was derived from the livestock show that was entitled as the American Royal. That is a horse show and rodeo that was held annually in Kansas City since 1899. They entered the Major League Baseball in 1969 as an expansion franchise. The Kansas City Royals is founded by Ewing Kauffman. Kauffman is a businessman in Kansas City. Their inaugural game was played on April 8, 1969 and was able to defeat the Minnesota Twins. Their first winning season came in 1971 under Bob Lemon as the team’s manager. From 1969 to 1972, the team’s ballpark was at the Kauffman Stadium. In 1973, the team was then moved to Municipal Stadium.
