The first draft pick of the Houston Rockets was Pat Riley who soon became one of the Hall of Fame coaches.  Their first playoffs appearance was made in 1969. The first coach of the team was Jack MacMahon. On the other hand, the Houston Rockets played their home games in the San Diego Sports Arena. The Houston Rockets as a final point had a permanent home in Houston in the NBA season of 1975 to 1976.
