They are Major League Baseball team that is based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Cincinnati Reds are members of the Central Division of the National League. In 1882, the team was originated. They were named as the Cincinnati Red Stockings that time. From the Cincinnati Red Stockings, it was then changed to Cincinnati Redlegs for part of the 1950s. It was in the seasons of 1890 that the Cincinnati Reds joined the National League. At that time, the teams was said to be a charter member of the American Association. As the team was founded, they started to be as an amateur club and that was in 1866. They became fully professional in the seasons of 1869. Since that period until the 1870, the Cincinnati Reds was able to win 130 straight games. Two of the first few star players of the team were Harry and George Wright. It also includes Fred Walterman and Asa Brainard.
Nicknamed as the Reds, the Cincinnati Reds has been in the baseball scene for more than 125 years, winning the World Series titles in 1919, 1940, 1975, 1976, 1990.
Originated in 1882, the Reds are members of the Central Division of the National League and play their home games at the Great American Ball Park.
Among their earlier records include hitting the 221 homeruns to tie the NL in 1956, le d by National League Rookie of the Year Frank Robinson. They also won a total of 98 games in 1962.

Other titles won include having the best overall baseball record in 1981 and placing First in NL Central in 1994 and Ken Griffey, Jr. hitting his 600th home run on June 8, 2008.
To date, Nine Reds won the MVP award: Ernie Lombardi (1938), Bucky Walters (1939), Frank McCormick (1940), Frank Robinson (1961), Johnny Bench (1970, 1972), Pete Rose (1973), Joe Morgan (1975-76), George Foster (1977) and Barry Larkin (1995).
The team’s official uniform colors are red, white and black with a logo design of a drop-shadow red wishbone “C” with the drop-shadowed word “RED” inside.
