To Sean May of the Charlotte Bobcats, basketball is a family game and this was the place he drew his inspiration. His father and brother were both basketball players before him and this inspired him to play basketball. He was an outstanding player in high school and he went on to play for his college team.  As a player for the university of California basketball team, he was instrumental in leading the team to its fourth national championship. May was draftee into the NBA by the bobcats before he could finish college. He started his career on a high note but he was rendered inactive by an injury to his knee, which saw him sign up  as a free agent  with Sacramento Kings. May was one of the players in the 2004 FIBA world championship gold medal-winning team.
