They are at present part of the North Division of the American Football Conference in the National Football League. The Baltimore Ravens are professional American football franchise that is having their base in Baltimore, Maryland. In the seasons of 1995, the Baltimore Ravens came into subsistence. They were originated in the Cleveland Browns relocation controversy. The first owner of the team was Art Modell. After many changes, the team then began to play in 1999. In addition, the first home stadium of the team was the Baltimore’s Memorial Stadium. They also have another home field in the Baltimore Colts. In 1998, they then moved to Camden Yards. This is the new place that they owned.

 

Their name is said to be a reference to the poem that was entitled “The Raven” and it was written by Edgar Allan Poe.  He lived and worked in Baltimore at some points in his life. Poe was also buried in the city.
