Chris Pronger started playing in the minor hockey league in his hometown in Canada. At the early age of 15, he had already established a name in the game. Pronger was known through the Ontario U-17 program and signed for the seasons of 1990 to 1991 with the Stratford Cullitions Jr.B. club. In the season of 1992, he was selected by the Peterborough Petes in the 6th round. He played for almost 2 years with the Pete in the OHL. After playing with them, he was selected in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.
His year of playing the game with a professional career started in the 1993 season when he was selected by the Hartford Whalers. Upon making his debut in the same season, he played with 81 games and was able to earn a spot on the NHL All- Rookie Team. Pronger was able to play in the NHL All- Star Game for 6 years, from 1999 to 2004. His record includes his record to score a penalty shot during a Stanley Cup Final game.
