About Anaheim Angels Memorabilia & CollectiblesThe Anaheim Angels are the name given to the professional baseball team that is based in Anaheim, California. They are part of the Western Division of Major League Baseball’s American League. The name as an “Angels” was first started off from the city’s name of their original home and it was Los Angeles.
Since the seasons of 1966, they are based in Angel Stadium of Anaheim. In 1961, the team was founded. They then played their home games at Los Angeles’ Wrigley Field. A year after that, they moved to Dodger Stadium.
The team was founded and at the same time owned by Gene Autry for the first 36 years. Their name was first changed as the California Angels. That was on September 2, 1965. In 1997, the Walt Disney Company took control of the team.
The team was then owned by Arte Moreno in 2005. Four of the five years that Moreno owned the team, they have made the playoffs.
