On August 2 1979 Yankees Captain Thurman Munson died in a plane crash. His sudden death stunned the nation and especially sorrowed the baseball community. To this day despite a packed clubhouse Munson's locker remains empty as a subtle tribute to such a great player. Munson is the focus of this Highland Mint Photomint a unique framed collectible that measures 12"" x 15"" and is mounted in team-colored double matting. It features an exclusive numbered 8x10 photograph of Munson tagging out Steve Garvey during the World Series. Also included are two 24KT gold-plated commemorative coins- one featuring the team logo and established date and one Yankee Stadium coin with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. This is one of a limited edition of only 2004 and is officially licensed by Major League Baseball.
