The Dodgers were Piazza's first team and he had in fact caught a Nomo no-hitter. This home run moved Mike Piazza into 58th place all-time on the home run list passing another great Joe DiMaggio. Piazza would break the record on May 5 2004 against the Giants by hitting a Jerome Williams pitch over the wall at Shea Stadium.
