The MLB Playoffs are over and soon, only one team will be able to call itself the 2008 World Champions. In the American League, The Tampa Bay Rays took care of business against David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox to reach their first World Series in franchise history. And in the National League, the Philadelphia Phillies knocked off Manny Ramirez and the LA Dodgers to reach the Fall Classic.
The New York Yankees missed the playoffs for the first time in 13 years. Yankees fans everywhere are hoping Alex Rodriguez and Mariano Rivera don’t make ending the season in September a regular thing! A late-season collapse saw the New York Mets missing the playoffs for the second time in two years. Will David Wright and Carlos Beltran deliver next year in their new stadium?
Don’t forget about the accomplishments set in the regular season now that the playoffs have started! Celebrate Josh Hamilton’s Home Run Derby Record with a baseball signed by the Texas Rangers slugger. Don’t forget to protect that investment by keeping it in one of our glass display cases.
Collecting memorabilia from other baseball legends? Don’t miss out on our autographed Yogi Berra baseballs or signed Mickey Mantle memorabilia. The World Series isn't the only sports story this time of year. In the NFL, Eli Manning is doing his part to defend the New York Giants' Super Bowl title. And with Tony Romo out for a few weeks, they could create some serious distance between themselves and the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East standings. Could Manning lead his Giants past and Terrell Owens and back to another Super Bowl victory?
There’s plenty of action over in the NFC North too. Bears fans are hoping Brian Urlacher will help their team get back to the big show. And Packer backers want to know if Aaron Rodgers has what it takes to get Green Bay back into the playoffs.
Don’t forget about the shakeups in the AFC. With Tom Brady out for the season and Brett Favre taking the snaps for the New York Jets, there are a lot of possibilities in the AFC East. Will Randy Moss pose the same offensive threat with Matt Cassel throwing down field? Can Favre be the Jets’ key to a post-season run? Or will the Buffalo Bills come from behind and take this division?
Down South, Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts are playing catch-up with the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The San Diego Chargers were the pre-season favorite to win the AFC West. But LaDainian Tomlinson and his boys are number two behind the Denver Broncos. Will the Bolts get back on track, or could the Broncos be for real?
