A National Hockey League player, Jaromir Jagr is currently the captain of the New York Rangers. He was born on February 15, 1972 in Czechoslovakia.

 

He was only sixteen when he played at the highest level of competition in Czechoslovakia. Jagr is said to be the first Czechoslovakian who was drafted by the National Hockey League. He was then taken by the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 1990 National Hockey League Draft as their fifth overall pick. Jagr was also the youngest player in NHL history to score a goal in the Stanley Cup Finals.
