The situation became worse when speedy Dave Roberts entered the game as a pinch runner at first base. Everyone knew he was going to try to steal second...and he did! He stole second on a Mariano Rivera 94 mile per hour fast ball. Bill Mueller would drive Roberts home and the Red Sox eventually won the game and the series. It can be said that without Dave Roberts there would be no World Series ring for the Boston Red Sox. This official baseball has been autographed by Dave Roberts with the special inscription of "Game 4 Miracle Steal" and David Ortiz has also autographed this ball on the top panel. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
