Product Information
It had been 17 years since the Mets won their first World Series title, and they were itching for another. Unlike their first appearance when they were the underdogs, the Mets entered the 1986 Fall Classic against the Boston Red Sox as the heavy favorites. The series went to seven games, thanks to the infamous error made by Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner on Mookie Wilson's grounder. On Oct. 27, 1986, the Mets clinched their second title proving they were amazin' once again. This memorable 16x20 World Series home plate celebration photograph has been hand signed by six members of the 1986 Mets- Mel Stottlemyre, Ray Knight, Howard Johnson, Lenny Dykstra, Davey Johnson and Wally Backman. Ray Knight has also inscribed, ""86 W.S. M.V.P"". A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included. SKU:SS*METSPHS016021
