Tennessee Titans

Titans JerseyThe Tennessee Titans’ jerseys were first worn by the Houston Oilers in 1960. This team originally wore baby blue uniforms and helmets with an oil rig tower for a logo. The helmet was the only thing to change during the team’s 37 years in Houston, and after a few years, it changed to silver instead of the baby blue that it had been. The Oilers moved to Tennessee in 1997, and they used the same name for their first two years in Tennessee. The Tennessee Titans came into existence in 1999 because many fans complained that the Oilers did not belong in Tennessee because they were associated with the oil industry of Texas. The Titans have used a dark blue jersey with a white number, white pants, and light blue shoulders, or a white jersey with blue numbers and pants depending on whether their game is home or away. The team’s helmet is white with the logo on it, and the logo is a white “T” inside a circle of various colors that appears to be on fire. This classic Titans look has changed very little since the team changed its name, and fans are appreciative of the consistent jerseys even if they are quite simple.
Throughout the 50 year history of the Tennessee Titans and Houston Oilers, the team has competed at a high level for many seasons, but some years, they end up near the bottom of their division. The team won the league championship in 1960 and again in 1961, and they made it to their first Super Bowl in 1999, when Eddie George and the Tennessee Titans fell about 6 inches short of beating Marshall Faulk and the St. Louis Rams. The team has made the playoffs several times since then, and they are one of the more competitive teams in their division in recent years. Players like Vince Young have seen a growing number of fans continue to show up to cheer on the Tennessee Titans because of their recent success, and these fans are hopeful that the success will continue. Star player Kenny Britt recently had a breakout year, and if his career stays on track, it is possible that he could lead the team to another post season run at the title. The team has many loyal fans, and these fans come to the games decked out in Chris Johnson jerseys or other jerseys to support their Pro Bowl running back and his teammates. The team is hopeful that it will return to the playoffs soon, and with the young talent and veteran leaders on the Tennessee Titans’ team, there is a good chance that this team could be competing in a Super Bowl game in the near future.
