St Louis Blues

St. Louis Blues jerseys The St. Louis Blues jerseys have been used for over 40 years, but hockey began in St. Louis over 30 years before the Blues came to town. The St. Louis Eagles were the first hockey team to compete in the area, but after just one season in 1934, the team became defunct. The St. Louis Blues were introduced in 1967 as one of the expansion teams at the end of the “Original 6” era. The team’s original logo was a blue musical note with wings coming out of the right side, and a yellow border. Since 1967, this logo has remained nearly unchanged, with very few, if any, minor changes. The team’s dark jersey during its first years was blue with gold, blue, and white accenting stripes. The numbers on the jerseys were gold, with blue outlining, and the light colored jersey was white with a similar design pattern. The team had very few changes for the next 30 years or so, and no major changes were made until 1995. In 1995, a new jersey was introduced by the team, and it was very different than what was used before. These new jerseys were blue with yellow numbers and white text for names, but they had yellow diagonal stripes with solid red color below the stripes. This uniform was worn by “The Great One” when he played for one year in St. Louis. In 1997, the team introduced a third jersey. This jersey was white, with the same blue musical note logo, and dark blue, yellow, and black stripes at the end of each sleeve, the neckline, and the bottom of the torso. This jersey was first used as an alternate, but in the next season, the team decided that this would be the format that would be used for both the home and away jerseys. These jerseys have not changed much since the 1998 season, but in 2008, the team again introduced an alternate uniform. The uniform is a dark blue uniform with yellow and white stripes at the ends of the sleeves and near the waistline, and it has the team’s logo in a white circle with the St. Louis Arch in the background. Keith Tkachuk is one of the Blues greatest players, and until recently, he led the team with his experience. One of the team’s current leaders, Barret Jackman, has been on the team for 11 seasons, and has a vast knowledge of the game of hockey. Some young players include Brad Boyes and Andy Mcdonald. The team is currently struggling to stay competitive, but with these new young players, the team may be able to get back on top and continue to grow in the NHL.
