Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks JerseyThe Seattle Seahawks are a unique football team because they’ve played in both the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference. Established in 1976, the Seahawks play in Qwest Field in Seattle, Washington. Their team colors are light blue, steel blue, neon green, and white. The Seahawks’ main logo is an angry hawk’s head, leaning forward and drawn in light and steel blue. The current Seattle Seahawks jersey is light blue with white numbers. The sleeves are steel blue. The neck, sleeves, and pant legs have neon green trim on them. This jersey is worn with a light blue helmet with the seahawk-head logo. The previous home jerseys had a medium blue shirt and silver pants. The neck, sleeves, and pant legs had neon green trim. This older uniform had a silver helmet with the eagle logo printed in blue and green. The current white road jersey has light blue sleeves and numbers. This jersey also has neon green trim on the neck, sleeves, and pant legs. The same helmet is used with this uniform. The older away jersey was white with silver pants. This jersey had blue and green trim on the neck, sleeves, and legs. It was also worn with the silver helmet with the blue and green hawk. The Seahawks have an alternate jersey as well. This uniform has a neon green jersey and steel blue pants. The neck and sleeves have light blue and steel blue trim, and the pants have light blue and neon green trim. This jersey has white numbers and is worn with the standard light blue helmet. Since they started playing in 1976, the Seahawks have been division champions seven times. In 2005, they were NFC conference champions and played against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XL. Led by quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, running back Shaun Alexander, receiver Joe Jurevicius, and tight end Jerramy Stevens, the Seahawks entered the playoffs as the number one seed in the NFC. They defeated the Washington Redskins and the Carolina Panthers before advancing to the Super Bowl, where the Steelers won, 21-10. Unique to the Seahawks is their loud fan base. The Kingdome, Husky Stadium, and Quest Field have all been filled with fans wearing Seattle Seahawks jerseys and cheering loudly. In one game against the New York Giants, the Seahawks fans were so roudy that they caused the Giants to commit 11 false starts. Seahawks fans refer to this crowd solidarity as the “Twelfth Player” and the Seahawks have retired number 12 in honor of their fans. Several football hall of famers, including Franco Harris, Warren Moon, and Jerry Rice, have played for the Seahawks. Jerry Rice jersey number 80 has been retired by the Seahawks.
