Oregon Ducks

In 2010, the Oregon Ducks finished the regular season undefeated, and poised to claim the national title. No team from the state of Oregon had ever found itself in this position, and excitement was rampant throughout the Pacific northwest. Despite losing the title game to Auburn, it was apparent that the Ducks had a fervent following and that they were the team supported by the majority of the nations population.

With this incredible success during the 2010 campaign, it is very easy to lose sight that the Ducks have produced some high caliber players during the course of their history. Dan Fouts, one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, honed his craft while a student at the University of Oregon.

Following in the steps of the legendary Fouts was the immensely talented Joey Harrington. Posting one of the most successful careers in the history of the Oregon Football team, he finished with an impressive 25 - 3 record as a starting quarterback. The highlight of his Oregon career came during the 2002 Fiesta bowl, where he threw four touchdown passes in leading the Ducks to and emphatic victory over the Colorado Buffaloes.

While he backed up the Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Fouts during his time at Oregon, Norv Turner has gone on to have a successful career as an NFL coach. spending almost two decades as an offensive Coordinator, Turners, first opportunity was to coach the Redskins. He built the team up from mediocrity, leading them to one playoff appearance. After an unsuccessful stint in Oakland, Turner went to the San Diego Chargers, where he would lead the Chargers to several post season berths. To Date, this is his most successful appointment

Haloti Ngata interrupts this line of quarterbacks. As a dominant defensive end, hist stellar play helped to stymie opposing offenses and establish the Ducks as one of he nations elite. Ngata took these abilities to the NFL, where he has managed to have a highly successful career with the Baltimore Ravens.

the Oregon Ducks are one of a few teams who have five different Jerseys. For home games, they wear green jerseys with a gray feather emblem over both shoulders. For their away uniforms, they wear all white outfits with a green feather emblem. Their first alternate jersey is a dark green color with a gray feather emblem on the shoulder. In their second alternate kit, the jersey is white with the feather emblem a gray color. For their final alternate Jersey, the Ducks wear an orange uniform with the feather emblem on the shoulders being a green color. The one interesting parallel with these uniforms has to do with the Ducks on the gridiron: not only do they have multiple uniforms in which they can suit up but also they have a diverse array of tools from which they can draw to beat their opposition.
