Michigan Wolverines

michigan jerseyThe Michigan Wolverines jerseys have changed very little throughout the team’s successful history. The team originally wore plain white uniforms with dark lettering and light pants, and for the past 100 years, The Michigan Wolverines jerseys have consisted of the famous maize and blue colors. Throughout the team’s history, no team has won more college football games in the NCAA, and no team has been as successful. The team’s uniforms have remained relatively unchanged, as has the level of play at this legendary football school. The best team in all of college football wore the Michigan Wolverines jerseysback in 1901. The 1901 Michigan Wolverine football team went 11-0 with Fielding Yost as their coach. Not only did the team not only win every single game, but it did so without allowing a single point. The team went on to win the Rose Bowl and the NCAA Championship while outscoring opponents 555-0 throughout the course of the season. This season was the best season that any college football team has ever had, and it was a starting point for a historic football school that dominated throughout the early 1900s. The Michigan Wolverines jersey is famous for its winged helmet design, and it is one of the most iconic helmet designs in all of college football. The team is also famous for the yellow “M” that serves as the school’s logo. The Michigan Wolverines have seen three Heisman trophy winners, and many players that have continued on to succeed in the National Football League.  Some popular jerseys over the course of the team’s history include Desmond Howard’s jersey, John Navarre’s jersey, Chad Henne’s jersey, Tyrone Wheatley’s jersey, and more. The school has also retired only 2 jersey numbers, which is extremely low for such a historic franchise. The only minor change that has been done to this team’s uniform recently is a change of sponsors to Adidas. This is typical, and throughout the team’s history, all that has changed is the type of material, and the logo that is on it. The main design and format of the uniforms has been fairly unchanged, and only minor changes have been made in the past 100 years to the team’s colors and gear. The lack of change in the team’s maize and blue uniforms is indicative of the lack of change in the team’s level of play. Since the school began a football program, the team has consistently been at the top of the country’s college football league, and has been a regular competitor in the postseason. The team has struggled as of late, but fans hope that the recent hiring of a new coach will bring about a new attitude and bring back the old level of success that has typified the University of Michigan football program.
