Houston Texans

Houston Texans JerseyThe Houston Texans are the youngest franchise in the NFL. Founded in 2002, the teams history has been a brief one, and while they have not won any silverware, they chave had some high quality players over the years who have helped lay the foundation for what Texan fans believe to be a very promising future.

David Carr holds the distinction of being the first quarterback in the history of the Texans franchise. During the early days, the team would have some successes but would struggle. Despite these discouraging times, Carr provided the leadership that helped unify the team and build towards the future.

Matt Schaub was Carr's successor at quarterback, and it was thanks to the work of Carr that Schaub was ale to begin making an impact. Possessing a strong arm and excellent accuracy, he has proven himself to be an almost invaluable asset for the Texan franchise.

Ron Dayne finished his professional career with the Texans, but even though his playing time was beginning to draw to a close, that did not mean that his contributions on the field diminished. He consistently produced for his team, including  helping his team shock the Indianapolis Colts at the end of the 2006 season.

The Texans do not just have talent on the offensive side of the ball. Mario Williams has helped to solidify the defensive line for the young team. He holds the distinction for being the first player from the ACC to be selected as a first round draft pick, and his dominant play has more than justified this selection.

The Texan uniform has not had a significant amount of time to undergo modifications. For home games, the Texans wear a deep steel blue uniform with the collars and shoulders outlined with orange and the numbers in white. The away uniforms are white, with the collars and shoulders in a deep steel blue and the numbers in orange. For the team’s alternate jersey, the outfit is all orange, with the shoulders and collar in a deep steel blue and the numbers in white.

Even though the team might be young, their fiercest rivals are undoubtedly the Dallas Cowboys. In the team’s inaugural game, the Texans beat their interstate rivals, thus establishing the intensity of this young but very fervent rivalry. This also went down in the record books as the first time an expansion team won its first home game.

So to the Texans fan, rejoice in the team’s youth. The future holds great promise, and as the years go by, the management add both experience and expertise, the chances of succeeding in winning titles will not only become possible, but probable. Suit up on game day, and voice your support for your team to the world.
