Dallas Stars

dallas stars jerseyThe Dallas Stars jerseys were first worn by the Minnesota North Stars.  The franchise was started in 1967, and the dark jerseys were green with a white and yellow stripe on each arm, and the light colored jerseys had green and yellow striping on a white jersey. The jersey also had the Minnesota North Stars logo, a white N with a star on top of it. These first jerseys did not have the players’ names on them. In 1977, the team added a second strip on each sleeve, and, because of the new league rules, the team had to add names to the back of the jerseys. In 1978, the Cleveland Barons were forced to merge with the Minnesota North Stars, and the jerseys were made more simplistic. From this time until 1991, few changes were made to the jerseys. In 1991, the North Stars had financial problems, and they were forced to move to Dallas. Once this happened, the Dallas Stars were created. The Dallas Stars jersey was introduced as a black jersey with gold and green secondary colors. The light colored jerseys were white with green, black, and gold as the backup colors. The Stars also created a new logo that consisted of a green star, and the team name. In 2008, the team introduced a much more modern looking design, and a new logo. The new jersey is black, green, yellow, and red, and the new logo is the head of a bull-like character, and is very modern looking. This was the first major change since the team moved to Dallas in 1991, and it was a complete redesign of both the logo, and the jerseys. The colors changed on both the home and away jerseys, and the team also added a smaller logo to the shoulder of their away jersey. Some of the popular team apparel items that are commonly purchased include Mike Modano jerseys, and other all star player jerseys. Marty Turco jerseys became extremely popular after he had his most successful season in net and helped Dallas make it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Pierre Turgeon jerseys were also popular during his best seasons on the team.  These players are some of the best players in recent history, and they have helped the Stars to several long playoff runs.

The team has been fairly successful, and they have been very competitive in the National Hockey League’s Western Conference. Many highly successful players have played with the Dallas Stars, including Brenden Morrow, a member of the United States 1980 Olympic hockey gold medal team. The team has had several jersey numbers retired, both from while they were in Dallas, and from like they were playing in Minnesota. The team has played in many Stanley Cup Playoffs, and has won a few different Presidents’ trophies and Stanley Cup Final appearances. Overall, the team has had a fairly successful history, and many memorable runs into the postseason.
