Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland Cavaliers JerseyThe original Cleveland Cavaliers jersey was wine-colored with gold trim around the tank-style neck and arms at their inception in 1971. Their city name of Cleveland and the numbers were also in gold. The jersey featured a flourish under the name “Cavaliers” on both the home and away jerseys. Those early jerseys also showcased the first Cavs logo—a jousting knight, or “Cavalier,” encircled by the team name.
The Cavaliers' next uniform featured gold for the home jersey, with white, wine and gold alternating trim along the sides. These colors were popular and were resurrected by the 2004-05 team. They continued the next few years with variations on the gold, even going to a metallic, glittery gold at one point, and the city name in block-style letterering.
1983 brought a radical revamping of the Cavalier's original colors and identity. New owner Gordon Gund made a complete change to the franchise's colors in the form of a dark burnt orange contrasted with a bright royal blue jersey with the word “CAVS” written across the chest. The logo took on a new look also when the “V” at the neck was rounded to look like a basketball hoop with a ball swishing in.  They kept this look, with some slight changes here and there, throughout the years the team played at Richfield Coliseum. The dark burnt orange was replaced completely by royal blue as the main road color by 1989.
In 1994, when the Cavaliers began to play in the Gund Arena, once again there was a sweeping change from their previous look. This time the new look would be light blue and black. The home jerseys were white, the road jerseys black. A blue zigzag was added across the chest, and the lettering was trimmed in orange
Then at the beginning of the 2003 season, Gund announced that there would be new team colors once again—a slight variation of the old—a more reddish wine color and a more glittery gold. Dark blue, rather than light would be the secondary color, as a tribute to the Cavalier teams of the 1990s.
Now their current uniforms are back to the original—wine and gold, with white for the home jersey, trimmed with a alternating stripes of wine and gold on the collar, sleeves, waistband, and pant legs, and wine lettering for the number and name; and a black jersey, trimmed in blue, orange, and white as the alternate uniform. All the Cavaliers' jerseys have stitched on the inside of the collar, the slogan, All for one, One for all.
The following Cleveland Cavalier jerseys have been retired: #7 Bingo Smith, #22 Larry Nance, #25 Mark Price, #34 Austin Carr, #42 Nate Thurmond, and #43 Brad Daugherty.
