Zelmo Beaty (full name: Zelmo Beaty Jr.; Big Z) played Center from 1963 until 1975 for the St. Louis Hawks, Atlanta Hawks, Utah Stars and Los Angeles Lakers. Over 12 seasons, he played 889 games, scored 15207 points (17.1 ppg) and grabbed 9665 rebounds (10.9 rpg). Beaty also dished out 1365 assists (1.5 apg), made 107 steals (0.1 spg), and blocked 172 shots (0.2 bpg) during his career. Born in Hillister, Texas on October 25, 1939, Beaty stands 6-9 and weighs 225 lbs. He attended high school at Woodville in Woodville, Texas and college at Prairie View A&M University. He was drafted by the St. Louis Hawks in the 1st round (3rd pick, 3rd overall) of the 1962 NBA draft.
