On the 11 of January 2011, he made his first ever hat trick in a game versus the Carolina Hurricanes. Aside from playing in the hockey league, Zdeno Chara has also played in the Olympic games under the Slovakia team.He has been awarded the James Norris Memorial Trophy in the year 2009.
