Willie Randolph is a retired professional baseball player who hails from South Carolina. He attended Samuel J. Tilden High School where he started his stellar baseball career. He began to play professionally in 1972 after he was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the Major League Baseball draft in the 1972 season. He spent a few years in the minor league systems and made his Major League Baseball debut in the 1975 season.

 

After his stint with the Steelers, he joined the New York Yankees where he spent the majority of his playing career. He had a 13-season stint with the Yankees and has logged impressive stats with the team. He also became part of the Los Angeles Dodgers which he joined in 1989 and has played for the Oakland Athletics in the 1990 season. His last team in the MLB was the Milwaukee Brewers which he joined in 1991.

 

According to statistics, he was a great offensive player and has ranked fourth in the National League most number of OBP with .411. After he retired from playing, he worked as a coach and a manager for a few MLB teams which include the New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers. At present, he is the bench coach of the Milwaukee Brewers.
