Whitey Platt (full name: Mizell George Platt; no nicknames) played leftfielder from 1942 until 1949 for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Browns. He played for the Cubs from 1942 - 1943, White Sox in 1946 and Browns from 1948 - 1949. Over 5 seasons, he played 333 games, hit 13 home runs, drove in 117 runs, and stole 2 bases. Born on August 21, 1920 in West Palm Beach, FL, Platt stood 6' 1" and weighed 190 lb. He attended Palm Beach (West Palm Beach, FL) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on September 16, 1942 and he played his final game on October 2, 1949. Common misspellings of his name include Mizell George Whitey whity Platt.
