Harry Wayne Comer the former Major League Baseball player started out as an amateur free agent who was traded by the Detroit Tigers in March of 1963. He was exposed while playing for the Tigers in 1968 World Series for making the only perfect 1.000 in World Series batting average. Comer led the Seattle Pilots in its first major league in runs and second in 15 home runs.
His was ranked as 8th best in American League in speed. His 18 steals was accounted to the Seattle Pilots in 1969. He played for the last time in August 1072 major league for the Detroit Tigers.

Wayne Comer (full name: Harry Wayne Comer; no nicknames) played outfielder from 1967 until 1972 for the Detroit Tigers, Seattle Pilots and Washington Senators. He played for the Tigers from 1967 - 1972, Pilots from 1969 - 1970 and Senators in 1970. Over 5 seasons, he played 316 games, hit 16 home runs, drove in 119 runs, and stole 22 bases. Born on February 3, 1944 in Shenandoah, VA, Comer stands 5' 10" and weighs 175 lb. He attended Page County (Shenandoah, VA) high school. His debut was on September 17, 1967 and he played his final game on August 2, 1972. Over his career, Comer made $44,000. Common misspellings of his name include Harry Wayne Comer.
