New York Knicks games, Frazier was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 29, 1945.
He chose to pursue his college education at Southern Illinois University. He became one of the premier collegiate basketball players in the country and was also named a Division II All-American in the years 1964 and 1965. Frazier had successfully led SIU to the NCAA Division II Tournament. He was drafted by the New York Knicks and in 1968 Frazier was able to join the

About Walt Frazier:
Walt Frazier (full name: Walter Frazier Jr.; Walt, Clyde) played Guard from 1968 until 1980 for the New York Knickerbockers and Cleveland Cavaliers. Over 13 seasons, he played 825 games, scored 15581 points (18.9 ppg) and grabbed 4830 rebounds (5.9 rpg). Frazier also dished out 5040 assists (6.1 apg), made 681 steals (0.8 spg), and blocked 63 shots (0.1 bpg) during his career. Born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 29, 1945, Frazier stands 6-4 and weighs 200 lbs. He attended high school at David T. Howard in Atlanta, Georgia and college at Southern Illinois University. He was drafted by the New York Knickerbockers in the 1st round (5th pick, 5th overall) of the 1967 NBA draft. He was inducted into Hall of Fame as Player in 1987.
