Wally Berger (full name: Walter Anton Berger; no nicknames) played centerfielder from 1932 until 1940 for the Boston Braves, Boston Bees, New York Giants, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the Braves from 1932 - 1935, Bees from 1936 - 1937, Giants from 1937 - 1938, Reds from 1938 - 1940 and Phillies in 1940. Over 11 seasons, he played 1350 games, hit 242 home runs, drove in 809 runs, and stole 36 bases. Born on October 10, 1905 in Chicago, IL, Berger stood 6' 2" and weighed 198 lb. He attended Mission (San Francisco, CA) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 15, 1930 and he played his final game on July 4, 1940. Over his career, Berger made $68,500.
