Vladimir Malakhov (full name: Vladimir Malakhov; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1993 until 2006 for the New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers. He played for the Islanders from 1993 - 1995, Canadies from 1995 - 2000, Devils from 2000 - 2006, Rangers from 2001 - 2004 and Flyers in 2004. Over 13 seasons, he played 712 games, scored 86 goals, and made 260 assists. Born in Sverdlovsk, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on August 30, 1968, Malakhov stands 6-4 and weighs 230 lbs. He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 10th round (191st overall) of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft.
