Vinegar Bend Mizell (full name: Wilmer David Mizell; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1952 until 1962 for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Mets. He played for the Cardinals from 1952 - 1960, Pirates from 1960 - 1962 and Mets in 1962. Over 9 seasons, he started 230 games, won 90 games, struck out 918 batters, and had a 3.85 ERA.
