About Vince Carter Autographed Memorabilia & Collectibles
Historical Vince Carter Milestones
Vince Carter is one of the most creative, original athletes to ever step foot on the NBA hardwood. After four years playing under legendary head coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina, Carter was drafted fifth overall in 1998 by the Golden State Warriors. Traded to the Toronto Raptors for his friend and college teammate Antawn Jamison, Carter would go on to win the NBA's Rookie of the Year award for the shortened 1998-9 season. Vince was voted to his first All-Star game his second season in the league where he reached superstar status by performing one of the most memorable Slam Dunk Contest performances ever seen. Carter wowed the crowd by throwing down some of the most challenging, gravity defying dunks the storied contest had ever seen. Carter's prowess as an elite slam dunker earned him the tag “Half Man, Half Amazing.” Carter was traded from the Raptors to the New Jersey Nets in 2004. Teamed with a Hall of Fame point guard in Jason Kidd, the duo, along with swingman Richard Jefferson, became one of the most dynamic backcourts in the NBA. Despite being a perennial powerhouse, the Nets came up short of NBA Championships. That, however, didn't stop Carter from piling up Nets franchise records while being voted to eight NBA All-Star Games. Moving on from the Nets in 2009, Carter shared his talent with various fanbases over the following years, including the Orland Magic (‘09-‘10), the Phoenix Suns (’10-’11), and the Dallas Mavericks (’11-’14) before landing with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2014.
One of the most prolific, exciting scorers of his generation, Vince Carter has forever left his mark on basketball with his unparalleled athleticism and playmaking ability. An eight-time All-Star with the ability to grow, Carter is one of the greatest guards of his generation and all-time most creative dunkers the hard court has ever known.
