Vic Wertz (full name: Victor Woodrow Wertz; no nicknames) played rightfielder and first baseman from 1947 until 1963 for the Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Browns, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins. He played for the Tigers from 1947 - 1963, Browns from 1952 - 1953, Orioles in 1954, Indians from 1954 - 1958, Red Sox from 1959 - 1961 and Twins in 1963. Over 17 seasons, he played 1862 games, hit 266 home runs, drove in 867 runs, and stole 9 bases. Born on February 9, 1925 in York, PA, Wertz stood 6' 0" and weighed 186 lb.
