About Vern Mikkelsen:
Vern Mikkelsen (full name: Arild Verner Agerskov Mikkelsen; Vern) played Forward-Center from 1950 until 1959 for the Minneapolis Lakers. Over 10 seasons, he played 699 games, scored 10063 points (14.4 ppg) and grabbed 5940 rebounds (8.5 rpg). Mikkelsen also dished out 1515 assists (2.2 apg), made steals (0.0 spg), and blocked shots (0.0 bpg) during his career. Born in Fresno, California on October 21, 1928, Mikkelsen stands 6-7 and weighs 230 lbs. He attended high school at Askov in Askov, Minnesota and college at Hamline University. He was drafted by the Minneapolis Lakers in the 1949 BAA draft (territorial selection). He was inducted into Hall of Fame as Player in 1995.
