Val Picinich (full name: Valentine John Picinich; no nicknames) played catcher from 1932 until 1933 for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Dodgers from 1932 - 1933 and Pirates in 1933. Over 18 seasons, he played 1037 games, hit 26 home runs, drove in 298 runs, and stole 31 bases. Born on September 8, 1896 in New York, NY (All Transactions), Picinich stood 5' 9" and weighed 165 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on July 25, 1916 and he played his final game on August 28, 1933. Common misspellings of his name include Valentine John Val Picinich.
