Murphy also dished out 1007 assists (1.6 apg), made 438 steals (0.7 spg), and blocked 269 shots (0.4 bpg). Born in Morristown, New Jersey on May 2, 1980, Murphy stands 6-11 and weighs 245 lbs. He attended high school at Delbarton in Northern Hills, New Jersey and college at University of Notre Dame. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the 1st round (14th pick, 14th overall) of the 2001 NBA draft.
