A retired professional boxer, Tracy Patterson was born by the name Tracy Harris in Alabama. His adoptive father, Floyd Patterson, who was also a professional boxer, gave him the name Patterson and was influential in Tracy’s boxing career.
Patterson started as an amateur boxer who bagged the New York Golden Gloves Championships twice, the firs one in 1984 and the next was in 1985. His boxing skills and essential body works were trained and harnessed at Hugenot Boys Club in New York and was motivated by Floyd Patterson.
His professional boxing career took off in 1985 as he won the Super Bantanweight title of the World Boxing Council. The fight was held in 1992 and Patterson managed to win over Thierry Jacob via technical knockout. He was able to hold on to the title after four successful title defense fights. However, he lost to Hector Sanchez in a fight in 1994. He was also a Super Featherweight Champion in 1995, winning over Eddie Hopson for the mentioned International Boxing Federation title. He went into retirement in the 2001 season after a series of losses. He finished his career with a record of 63 wins, 8 losses and 2 draws, in a total of 73 fights he made.
