Born in Chicago, Illinois, Anthony Robert “ Tony” Canadeo is a football halfback of the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers from years 1941-1944 and return in the football field in the year 1946-1952. He was not able to play in the 1945 season because he rendered himself for the World War II. He was nicknamed as the “Gray Ghost of Gonzaga” because of his gray hair during his college years at the Gonzaga University where he plays college football. He was drafted in 1941 to the NFL by the Green Bay Packers as the seventy –seventh overall in the 9th round. His jersey number was among the five of the Green Bay Packers players who was put on retired in 1952. But before his number was retired, it was the jersey number of Don Hutson who was put on retire in the year 1951. It was followed in 1971 by Bart Starr; then Ray Nitschke in the year 1983; then Reggie White in the year 2005.
Tony Canadeo died on the 29th of November 2003 at the age of 84 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Tony Canadeo (fullname: Anthony Robert Canadeo; no nicknames) played Defensive Back from 1950 until 1952 for the Green Bay Packers. He played 116 games, intercepted 9 passes and recovered 5 fumbles. Born in Chicago, IL on May 5, 1919, Canadeo stands 5'11 and weighs 190 lbs. He attended college at Gonzaga. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 9th round (77th overall) of the 1941 NFL Draft. Canadeo was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1974, finalist in 1971, 1972, 1973.
