Tom Fitzgerald (full name: Tom Fitzgerald; no nicknames) played right wing from 1989 until 2006 for the New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, Nashville Predators, Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins. He played for the Islanders from 1989 - 1993, Panthers from 1994 - 1998, Avalanche in 1998, Predators from 1999 - 2002, Blackhawks in 2002, Leafs from 2003 - 2004 and Bruins in 2006. Over 17 seasons, he played 1097 games, scored 139 goals, and made 190 assists. Born in Billerica, Massachusetts on August 28, 1968, Fitzgerald stands 6-0 and weighs 190 lbs. He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1st round (17th overall) of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. Fitzgerald officially announced retirement on September 12, 2006.
