Todd Arthur Walker hails from Bakersfield, California and was born on May 25, 1973. He attended LSU Tigers and led the team to the National Championship in 1993 and became the 1993 College World Series Most Outstanding Player Award. He was included in the LSU College Baseball Hall of Fame Class 2009.

 

Todd started his MLB career with the Minnesota Twins. He made his MLB debut on August 30, 1996. Unfortunately, his stats dropped so the twins traded him to the Colorado Rockies. Auspiciously, his performance improved a lot and he became an asset to the Rockies. By the second half of 2001, he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds and the team was rewarded with Walker’s consistent offense. He was then traded to the Boston Red Sox and he upped the level of his play. He led the Red Sox to the playoffs and played well against the Oakland Athletics and the New York Yankees. Unfortunately though, the Red Sox were booted out of the series and Walker was given free agency. He then signed with the Chicago Cubs.

 

Walker found his performance declining. In July 2006, he was traded off to the San Diego Padres. The Padres got in the playoffs but were immediately eliminated by the St. Louis Cardinals. By 2007, Walker was released due to poor performance. He signed with the Oakland Athletics where he was later released.

Todd Walker (full name: Todd Arthur Walker; no nicknames) played second baseman, third baseman and first baseman from 1996 until 2007 for the Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics. He played for the Twins from 1996 - 2000, Rockies from 2000 - 2001, Reds from 2001 - 2002, Red Sox in 2003, Cubs from 2004 - 2006, Padres in 2006 and Athletics in 2007. Over 12 seasons, he played 1288 games, hit 107 home runs, drove in 647 runs, and stole 66 bases. Born on May 25, 1973 in Bakersfield, CA, Walker stands 6' 0" and weighs 180 lb. He attended Airline (Bossier City, LA) high school and was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 1st round (8th pick) of the 1994 amateur draft.
