Toby Gerhart, born March 28, 1987, is an American football player who was part of the team Minnesota Vikings. Born in Norco, California, he is a running back for the said team and an All-American running back at the same time. He was drafted in the middle of round two of the 2010 National Football League Draft.
He was a record breaker running back for Norco High School and set a record for rushing yards of 9,662. He made the highest total running yards in national high school football history as of December 2009. During college, he was committed to Stanford University. He was a consensus First –team All-America selection in 2009. Recognized as the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year in 2009, he was also bagged 2009 Doak Wlaker Award and was a finalist of the Heisman Trophy in 2009. He also became a Touchdown Club of Columbus’ Archie Griffin Awardee which also meant he was the MVP for the season. He was frequently honored by the College Football Performance Awards and likewise won the 2009 Elite Running Back recognition. He made the most number of touchdowns and rushing yards in Stanford with 1,871 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns in a season. Throughout his career, he made 44 touchdowns. He was an outstanding outfielder for the cardinal baseball team and started the professional baseball career after the 2009 season at Stanford.
