Attending in Greenwich High School in 1978, Young was first seen with football potential earning honors as quarterback for the Cardinals. Young continued playing football in college at the Brigham Young University where he showed an outstanding performance. Thus, in 2001, he was inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame.
