Stephen Valiquette, more popularly known as Steve Valiquette, is a Canadian hockey player. He is presently playing for the HC CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. In 1998, he joined the New York Islanders and he made his debut on March 9, 2000 when he played against the Phoenix Coyotes. He took the place of Kevin Weekes and continued to appear is six more games in the 1999 to 2000 season. In the year 2003, he became a player of the Florida Panthers when he was picked from the waiver on October 3, 2003. sSix days after that, Edmonton Oliers got him and he played with them since. The following year, he was traded to the New York Rangers along with Dwight Helminen on the 2004 draft.
In July 2006, the Rangers re-assigned him to be one of the back up for Henrik Lundgvist after Kevin Weekes left. After that, Valiquette played mostly as a back up goal tender until he was traded to the Hartford in December 2009. March 3, 2997 marked the date when he first won a game in NHL. In January 31, 2008, he got his first shout out of his NHL career as they were playing against the Philadelphia Flyers. In the year 2003, he signed with the KHL side of the HC CSKA Moscow.
