Steve Renko is a retired pitcher who appeared in the Major League Baseball. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, he began his professional baseball career in 1969 for the Montreal Expos. His first Major League Baseball game was on June 27 1969 and thereafter, he played regularly in the league and has logged impressive stats. In the 1971 season, he was able to record 15 wins and repeated that number of wins in the 1973 season. In the National League in 1971, he was able to set the highest number of earned runs with 19. He left the Expos in the 1976 season and joined the Chicago Cubs. He played for the Cubs until the 1977 season.

 

After his stint with the Cubs, he joined the Chicago White Sox which he signed in 1977. He also played for the Oakland Athletics in 1978 and became part of the California Angels in 1981. After two years with the Angels, he played for the Kansas City Royals in 1983.

 

Among his notable contributions in the league was being able to help the California Angels reach the Western Division games of the Western League. He recorded 134-146 win-loss ratio in his entire 15 seasons in the league and appeared in 451 games in all. His career statistics include 1, 233 runs allowed, 36 games completed and 10, 704 batters faced. He logged a 3.99 ERA in his entire career.

Steve Renko (full name: Steven Renko; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1969 until 1983 for the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, California Angels and Kansas City Royals. He played for the Expos from 1969 - 1976, Cubs from 1976 - 1977, White Sox in 1977, Athletics in 1978, Red Sox from 1979 - 1980, Angels from 1981 - 1982 and Royals in 1983. Over 15 seasons, he started 365 games, won 134 games, struck out 1455 batters, and had a 3.99 ERA. Born on December 10, 1944 in Kansas City, KS, Renko stands 6' 5" and weighs 230 lb. He attended Wyandotte (Kansas City, KS) high school and was drafted by the New York Mets in the 24th round of the 1965 amateur draft.
