Steve Konowalchuk (full name: Steve Konowalchuk; no nicknames) played left wing from 1992 until 2006 for the Washington Capitals and Colorado Avalanche. He played for the Capitals from 1992 - 2004 and Avalanche from 2004 - 2006. Over 14 seasons, he played 790 games, scored 171 goals, and made 225 assists. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 11, 1972, Konowalchuk stands 6-1 and weighs 207 lbs. He was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 3rd round (58th overall) of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. Konowalchuk officially announced retirement on September 29, 2006.
