Steven Michael Henson is a former professional basketball player who hails from Junction City, Kansas. Born on February 2, 1968, he played for six seasons in the National Basketball League. Before being seen in the NBA, he played college basketball in Kansas State University. As a versatile and good player, he was included in the first team of the All-Big Eight Conference and recorded school-high assists which became an all-time record in Kansas State University. He played in the NCAA for a number of seasons and stays as one of the top ten NCAA players with most number of free throw percentage. His .900 free throw mark remains among the best records in NCAA.
In 1990, he started playing professionally as he joined the Milwaukee Bucks. He was selected by the Bucks in the 1990 NBA Draft where he was 44th overall pick and was chosen by the Bucks in round two. He played for six seasons in the National Basketball Association and joined a few other teams aside from the Milwaukee Bucks. He played for the Charlotte Hornets, the Atlanta Hawks and the Portland Trail Blazers. Henson also played for the Detroit Pistons with which he spent his last seasons in the league. In the 238 games he appeared in, he made a point-per-game average of 3.1.
Currently, he works with the University of Nevada in Las Vegas as an assistant coach under Lon Kruger, who happens to be his former college basketball coach.
