About Steve Francis Memorabilia & Collectibles
Known to National Basketball Association fans as “Stevie Franchise” and “Steve-O” is American player,
Steve Francis. He was born on February 21, 1977 in Takoma Park, Maryland.
In 1968, Francis who has the Steve Francis autographed indoor/outdoor basketball as a great collectible to numerous fans, entered the University of Maryland for his junior season. His presence in the team became one ingredient for the Terrapins to reach the number 5 spot in the preseason ranking. Because of this he easily became Maryland’s starting shooting guard. This paved way of his professional basketball career. During the 1999 NBA Draft, Francis was chosen second in the overall pick by the Vancouver Grizzlies. He made a mark on that draft when he fearlessly cried because he did not want being on the Grizzlies. He cited home distance, taxes and endorsements as some reasons of his disappointment. Together with Cuttino Mobley and Kevin Cato, Francis was then traded to the Orlando Magic on June 29, 2004. Although he was initially not happy with the trade, he was able to adjust well with his new team. Francis showed consistent improvement in his first seasons with the Magic that simply makes the Steve Francis autographed indoor/outdoor basketball a gem to any holder. However, the 2005-2006 season saw a fall down in Francis’ game performance. The Magic suspended Francis for an indefinite time for his refusal to re-enter in a particular game.
Francis was traded to the New York in exchange for Trevor Ariza and Penny Hardaway on February 22, 2006.
