Sherm Lollar (full name: John Sherman Lollar; no nicknames) played catcher from 1946 until 1963 for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns and Chicago White Sox. He played for the Indians in 1946, Yankees from 1947 - 1948, Browns from 1949 - 1951 and White Sox from 1952 - 1963. Over 18 seasons, he played 1752 games, hit 155 home runs, drove in 623 runs, and stole 20 bases. Born on August 23, 1924 in Durham, AR, Lollar stood 6' 1" and weighed 185 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 20, 1946 and he played his final game on September 7, 1963. Common misspellings of his name include John Sherm Sherman Lollar.
