About Shane Spencer Memorabilia & Collectibles

Currently playing as outfielder for the Hanshin Tigers in Japan is American Shane Spencer. He was born on February 20, 1972 in Key West, Florida.

Spencer’s baseball career in the Major Leagues started in September 1998. He was 26 years old then. This professional baseball debut was for the New York Yankees. Hitting 10 home runs along with 3 grand slams in only 67 at bats, the baby-faced Spencer who has the Shane Spencer #47 2000 game used World Series road jersey w/band won the fans’ hearts as a significant sport item to his fans, had established himself as a star. He then gained the nickname “Roy Hobbits” referring to The Natural’s protagonist due to his outstanding home run hits and an age older than most rookies in the majors. Spencer stayed with the Yankees until the 2002 season having the Shane Spencer #47 2000 game used World Series road jersey w/band as one of his precious items while staying with the team. For the 2003 season, he played in for the Texas Rangers and Cleveland Rangers, respectively. And on 2004, the New York Mets acquired him as a free agent. However, his games did not live up the high expectations of the football fans due to injury and several strike outs.

In 2005, Spencers signed a contract for the Hanshin Tigers in the Japanese Central League where he played 108 games and made 9 home runs. His service for the Tigers continued until he was fired in 2006. This was his last for the Japanese Central League. Due to some off-field troubles he had after leaving the Yankees, Major League team owners have been hesitant of getting him on a contract.

Sportsmemorabilia.com offers Shane Spencer #47 2000 game used World Series road jersey w/band and event cover. Common misspellings of his name are Sheyne Spenser, Shayn Spencer, Shane Spnecer, Shanne Spincer, and Shayne Spenncer.
