Shane Hnidy (full name: Shane Hnidy; no nicknames) played defenseman from 2001 until 2010 for the Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators, Atlanta Thrashers, Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins and Minnesota Wild. He played for the Senators from 2001 - 2004, Predators in 2004, Thrashers from 2006 - 2007, Ducks in 2008, Bruins from 2008 - 2009 and Wild in 2010. Over 9 seasons, he played 547 games, scored 16 goals, and made 55 assists. Born in Neepawa, Manitoba on November 8, 1975, Hnidy stands 6-2 and weighs 204 lbs. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 7th round (173rd overall) of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
