Schoolboy Rowe (full name: Lynwood Thomas Rowe; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1933 until 1949 for the Detroit Tigers, Brooklyn Dodgers, Philadelphia Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the Tigers from 1933 - 1942, Dodgers in 1942, Blue Jays in 1943 and Phillies from 1946 - 1949. Over 15 seasons, he started 278 games, won 158 games, struck out 913 batters, and had a 3.87 ERA. Born on January 11, 1910 in Waco, TX, Rowe stood 6' 4" and weighed 210 lb. He attended El Dorado (El Dorado, AR) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 15, 1933 and he played his final game on September 13, 1949.
